Art enamel

Enameling is an ancient art dating back to Egypt and spanning centuries — from Byzantine goldsmiths to Renaissance masters. The technique involves fusing colored glass powder onto metal at very high temperatures (780–850 °C), creating a surface with a brilliance and color depth no paint can match.

True enamel is a mineral product made of silica, metal oxides and vitreous flux. Unlike resin (sometimes misleadingly called 'cold enamel'), it requires multiple successive kiln firings. Each firing fuses the glass to the metal, producing colors of unique depth — the slightest variation in temperature or thickness creates subtle shifts that make every piece unrepeatable.

Fade-proof colors

At Silhaos, we use enamel to bring vivid pops of color to our creations: deep blue, turquoise, coral red, celadon green… Enamel delivers a smooth, glossy, fade-proof surface — the colors don't fade, chip or wear from everyday friction. Combined with our natural stones and metal finishes, it allows us to craft pieces that are both contemporary and timeless.
